Review

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, is a first-person shooter game that has new concepts for this kind of games. It has elements from role-playing games as well, where you can interact with NPCs. The game takes place in an alternate reality where there was a second Chernobyl disaster, and Soviets decided to use the site for some kind of experimentation. You are a Stalker, an illegal scavenger of scrap, and you enter Chernobyl in search for, well, artifacts. The Zone (Chernobyl) is now filled with mutants and physic anomalies. You can explore The Zone without being attached to a linear storyline, interacting with the characters that you don't have to blow up.

The game's graphics are amazing, but you really need a high-end system to experience them at their fullest. Exploring The Zone without restrictions, except the main quest, is a very welcomed concept. This means you can spend hours and hours inside The Zone searching for new and exciting stuff. The multiplayer is pretty solid too. Overall, this game is excellent and if you are a self-respecting gamer, you have to check it out at least.
Advantages
  • Good story.
  • Fast and exciting action.
Disadvantages
  • High system requirements.
